Why SDSU Sports MBA: Electing not to pursue collegiate sports, I initially chose to major in Business Communications in order to try and gain employment in the business world. After a few years of working, I decided to change direction and pursue a career in the sports business world. After researching several schools offering a sports management degree, I arrived at the Sports MBA program at San Diego State. I personally chose this program because it is allowing me to advance my business education while developing a strong network in the sports business industry.
Favorite class so far: Oddly enough, Financial and Managerial Accounting is my favorite class because Dr. Deboskey manages to blow my mind every single class with his knowledge of accounting in the business world. I’m hoping to apply some of that “accounting magic” in my future endeavors.
Fun fact about you: I was part of a Championship Intramural Flag Football Team at Arizona State, which was the only Non-Greek team in the division (we all know how seriously Greek life takes intramural sports).
Best out of the classroom activity so far: Participating in the Farmer’s Insurance Open as a volunteer was extremely eye-opening to me, having been to the tournament in previous years as a spectator. I was fascinated by all of the intricacies that go on behind the curtains of a golf tournament.
