With Tiger Woods dropping out of the tournament on day 1 due to injury, the crowd quickly shifted their excitement toward the likes of Phil Mickelson, Rickie Fowler, and the eventual winner, Jason Day.

Sports MBA students helped run the show behind the scenes by  providing assistance and direction to those in need, taking photos for the official Farmers Insurance social media sites, and making sure spectators would “Keep Calm and Torrey On.”[/fusion_text][/one_half][one_half last=”yes” spacing=”yes” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” padding=”” class=”” id=””][imageframe lightbox=”no” style_type=”none” bordercolor=”” bordersize=”0px” borderradius=”0″ stylecolor=”” align=”none” link=”” linktarget=”_self” animation_type=”0″ animation_direction=”down” animation_speed=”0.1″ class=”” id=””] [/imageframe][/one_half][two_fifth last=”no” spacing=”yes” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” class=”” id=””][imageframe lightbox=”no” style_type=”none” bordercolor=”” bordersize=”0px” borderradius=”0″ stylecolor=”” align=”none” link=”” linktarget=”_self” animation_type=”0″ animation_direction=”down” animation_speed=”0.1″ class=”” id=””] [/imageframe][/two_fifth][three_fifth last=”yes” spacing=”yes” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” class=”” id=””][fusion_text]Farmers Insurance did not let their sponsorship of the event go unnoticed; banners of their logo were incorporated at every possible location.

On Saturday, the Farmers Insurance team created a scavenger hunt that required spectators to visit various booths across the course to earn stamps in an attempt to win prizes. One of the booths was the Farmers Insurance Smash Course, a fictitious house arrangement that allowed fans to hit golf balls at various house items that are covered under Farmers Insurance plans. This creative and interactive sponsorship activation helped Farmers Insurance make the most of the money they paid for the event while also providing a fun outlet to hit golf balls in the house.[/fusion_text][/three_fifth]
