It was a matter of time before Piers Ross claimed Tez and the Student of the Week honor.
The Rhode Island native has been working with SDSUs top-ranked soccer program as a graduate assistant this year. His experience in soccer has transferred over to an intense work ethic in grad school and his analytical thinking has astonished us more than once.
His best feature is his willingness to share everything he knows, and provide genuine feedback and help to all members of the class. If that wasn’t enough, Piers often relates his experience as an MLS scout for Sporting KC to help his classmates better understand the inner workings of professional sports team & leagues. Thank you, Piers this student of the week honor is well deserved!

What made you choose SDSU’s Sports MBA program?
Location and I wanted to learn more about business.
What has been your most memorable experience so far in the SMBA program?
Hard to pick just one. I really like visiting various companies. Overall it has been a tremendous experience for me.
What do you hope to achieve while you’re a student in this program personally?
I want to broaden my knowledge area of business practices.
So far, what is your favorite class, and why?
Any class Dr. Bruce Reinig teaches. Either BA 628 – Operation and Supply Chain Management or MIS 749 – Business Data Analytics. I like them because I think Dr. Reinig is very thorough and takes the time to make sure we understand what he is talking about.
What do you hope to achieve once you graduate?
I want to work in professional soccer player operations. On a GM/ Head Coach track.
