Lighthouse Consulting Founder/CEO Richard Andersen paid a visit to class on Tuesday, May 26th to speak with the class about his professional journey and impart some wisdom that he’s learned along the way. During his talk, Mr. Andersen focused on our concerns and questions while sprinkling in related stories and useful colloquialisms. Mr. Andersen spoke about three key tenants he believes all successful employees share:
1) Work hard
2) Embrace change
3) Be enthusiastic
In addition to these tenants, Mr. Andersen shared an impactful story about how he broke into the sports industry driving a bus for a minor league affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. He attributes his professional success to hard work, asking questions, and a drive to succeed. Since starting in minor league baseball, Mr. Andersen has worked for the Miami (then Florida) Marlins, San Diego Padres, and was CEO of Northlands in Canada.
The class was incredibly lucky to have a speaker of Mr. Andersen’s quality and would like to thank him for his time.
