Today’s hip pocket class covered the basics of LinkedIn. Anthony Simonetti (SMBA ’16) led the presentation, pulling on his prior experience teaching sales professionals on how to use LinkedIn.
Topics covered including personalizing URLs, fully completing profiles, the differences between recommendations and endorsements, best practices of connecting to people, finding people, and general profile tips.
The purpose of the hip pocket was to prepare SMBA students for using LinkedIn to network and potentially even find jobs post-graduation and beyond.
LinkedIn is a business-oriented social media network with over 300 million users. In addition to allowing users to connect to each other, members can follow and interact with companies and organizations, and apply for jobs directly.
