What made you choose SDSU SMBA?

I liked that SDSU SMBA had a holistic education, that covered all sides of business
management. Successful managers at the C-Level must be able to work with and understand
all departments in their organization, and SDSU covers everything from finance to
marketing to human resources.

What do you hope to achieve while you're a student in this program(personally
and professionally)?
On an education level, I’m looking to strengthen my quantitative skills.Having worked
in marketing for most of my career, I want to learn more about and improve my abilities
in topics such as finance and statistics.

Do you have any background/experience in the sports industry? If not,any work experience?

I have previous experience in the sports industry with the Los Angeles Galaxy and
Seattle University Athletics, as well as experience in international marketing and
communications working with Basketball Australia in Sydney, Australia. I also spent
three years as a Marketing and Communications Strategist with New Horizons Computer
Learning Centers of Southern California, where I was twice named as a Living the Values
Award recipient.

What area of the sports industry are you attempting to enter, and why?

Upon graduation from the San Diego State Sports MBA program, I hope to work in brand
marketing, building athletes’ public image. With an extensive background in writing, I
enjoy creating and shaping messages and perceptions, and with their wide, international
reach, I think athletes are the perfect medium to share these messages.

So far, what is your favorite class, and why?

I have particularly enjoyed finance, as I can see the real-world applications everyday
when making transactions as simple as buying a sandwich for lunch. I have enjoyed all
of our classes though, we have excellent professors!
